Campaigns I looked at

Social awareness campaigns are deemed to be more effective and consumers respond better to brands that take it into their own hands to make people aware of problems within society. 74% of people believe that companies should give more than just a product or service. There are a lot of brands that are already participating in doing a social good to raise money for a cause of their choice. One example of a company that has done this is P&G who focused on issues relating to gender and sexuality, a topic that has been widely spoken about within society as more and more people are finally accepting themselves as they are. In their newer campaign We See Equal they used techniques to battle the gender bias and raise awareness about the problems surrounding this topic, with the end goal to have quality for everyone (Gilliland and Gilliland, 2020). This is something that relates to my topic as I will be raising awareness and hoping to bring equality to everyone. The P&G campaign was successful because it was transferrable to many different platforms. It was shown on television and also on many social media sites including Twitter and Facebook, the most popular home for social awareness campaigns. The main aim of their campaign was to show both boys and girls defying their gender stereotypes. P&G tried to portray a completely diverse and have used their campaign Like a Girl where there was a huge empowerment for women.

Cover FX

Cover FX wanted to break the notion that “nude” only pertains to white skin through their “Nude is Not Beige” campaign. In addition, they also launched an online shade matcher so everyone can check which foundation works best with their skin tone. This will encourage customers with varying colours to give their products a shot

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs is also spearheading the diverse and inclusive branding. As a result, the company launched its 29-shade foundation line, which has every colour from white, fair, yellow, beige, medium, deep, dark, and more.

This Campaign Is On A Mission To Celebrate The Beauty Of Black Women

The beauty of blackness is both powerful and infinite. However, throughout history, blackness has been devalued, especially when it comes to women. Whether it be our full noses, kinky, coily texture of our hair, curvaceous build of our bodies, or the melanin that enriches our complexions, we’re always made known just how different we are. And with societal pressures to denounce everything that makes of beautiful and unique, there’s come psychological effects like the divide between light and dark-skinned women.
